Give each word a moment.

This original four-second video shows “One idea. One clear next step.” in a yellow callout. The words appear in order, at their final positions. The scene text stays still. It is silent, portrait 720 × 1280, H.264 at 30 fps. Download the MP4 (35 KB).

Try the same settings.

  1. Download the editable video document. In the studio, open Import a video document, select the JSON file and review it before choosing Use imported document.
  2. Choose a scene and open Scene graphics. Its callout uses left 10%, top 12%, width 80%, height 12% and a 44px target text size. Change the wording or colors to suit your video.
  3. Under Text reveal, choose Word by word. This example uses 2.4 seconds. Preview the start and midpoint, then play it to check reading time.
  4. Save a new version, export and watch the finished MP4. A download or a saved version does not publish your video.

The example has two two-second scenes. Splitting the original four-second scene preserved its reveal: the second half continues from two seconds into the effect. It does not start the sentence again.

Keep the timing deliberate.

The first word appears when the graphic starts; all words appear by the chosen duration. A short visible range can end before they all appear. Choose a 0.2–3-second reveal in tenths, with up to 24 words per callout and 96 across the video. Original videos are limited to 60 seconds at 720p or 30 seconds at 1080p; word-removal and dissolve limits still apply.

This timing is authored separately from speech. For captions that follow a recording, use the spoken-word highlighting example and review the transcript's word times.

Choose None to show every word while keeping the callout's wording and layout. If reveal exports are temporarily unavailable, saved reveals remain. Set each reveal to None and save a new version, or return later. Undo and saved history recover the earlier effect.

Make room for the message.

A reveal can draw attention to a short instruction. Leave time to read the completed line, keep it clear of scene text and captions, and avoid hiding a material disclosure behind the effect. The text and graphics guide covers visibility, fading, placement and layer order.
