Test the type before you keep it.
A four-second silent example uses Noto Sans Regular for the caption track. Watch the accented letters and the highlight as it moves across the sample words.
Download the finished MP4 · 22 KB. This is an actual Remixure renderer export at 720 × 720 and 30 fps, without an audio track. Its font and word timing were reviewed; the timing is authored, not inferred from speech.
Check the details you will use.
The headline keeps its scene font. Only the caption uses the private face: Café mañana. fi fl AV. Accents, paired letters and gaps between words give you specific things to inspect. The letter pairs are literal font samples; this example does not demonstrate automatic ligature shaping.
A font changes the picture, not the wording or cue clocks. Look for clipped accents, unclear letters and cramped spacing in the preview and the finished file. Optional player captions describe the silent visual changes; they are not a speech transcript.
Rebuild the four-second example.
- Download the editable scene and captions. In a new studio video, open Import a video document, select it, review it and choose Use imported document. Import replaces the current draft after review. This document starts with the catalog Sans face and includes no private media or font reference.
- Obtain your own permitted copy of Noto Sans Regular from its public upstream. Review its SIL Open Font License and retain the license with the original. The example uses the 569,208-byte static regular TTF from that revision; the font itself is not in these public downloads.
- Open Use a private text font and choose Timed captions in Private font text target. Select the TTF, confirm permission for upload, browser preview and finished videos, then choose Upload and review font. Inspect the cue preview, choose I inspected the text preview, and confirm the permission and readability checks before Apply private text font. If the face is already in your workspace, use the existing-font choice instead.
- Keep outline, bottom placement, large 40px text and word highlighting. The imported document already has the settings and the word times below. Preview all four seconds. One Undo restores the earlier caption font; Discard leaves the video unchanged.
- Save a new version, then export MP4 and inspect the downloaded result. Font uploads stay private in the workspace; the rendered wording becomes public only when you share the export. Saving or exporting does not publish it.
Download the manual settings and source reference. Import the separate scene document first; this recipe is a settings record. Download the authored visual descriptions for the optional player track.

Keep the current font boundary in view.
Use one upright static regular or bold TrueType face, up to 1 MiB, with supported Latin text and common punctuation. Variable, italic, collection, CFF, color and bitmap faces are unavailable. Unsupported characters stop preview or export; they are not silently replaced.
Private-font MP4 supports up to 12 scenes and 60 seconds at 720p or 30 seconds at 1080p.
This example changes only timed captions. You can separately review the same original for a scene heading and supporting line, a callout, or a bar, line or pie chart. Each target needs its own Apply; one exact private original is allowed per video. Scene, caption and callout brand defaults can reuse a reviewed private original. Chart brand defaults keep their catalog faces; use a separate chart-target review for a private face. SRT and VTT preserve words and times without the font. When private-font export is unavailable, remove its setting and save a new version; the original stays in your library.
Follow the caption-font guide for review, reuse and recovery. Watch and rebuild the separate chart-font example to inspect titles, numbers and source notes. Watching or downloading this example needs no account. Saving a video or storing a font requires sign-in and a workspace.
